The ISCAR 5690088 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying the ANSI designation ADMT 1505PDR-HS in manufacturer grade IC950. It is a single-sided, right-hand, parallelogram-shaped insert with a positive rake geometry and a honed cutting edge. The PVD-applied TiAlN coating provides wear resistance at elevated cutting temperatures. With two cutting edges, a maximum depth of cut of 0.472 inches (14.00 mm), and a corner radius of 0.0315 inches (1/32 inch), this insert is engineered for productive milling in steel and cast iron. Licensed ISCAR tooling technicians and CNC machinists are the typical end users.
This insert is designed for milling applications in steel and cast iron workpiece materials, classified under ISO material codes P and K. It belongs to the HELISHRED series and is compatible with ADK cutter bodies. The HS chip breaker geometry is optimized for controlled chip formation in these material groups. The insert size code 1505 places it in the mid-range insert class, with an inscribed circle of 0.378 inches and a cutting edge effective length of 0.551 inches, making it suitable for both roughing and semi-finishing passes in production and job-shop milling operations.
Designed for use with ADK series cutter bodies in the ISCAR HELISHRED platform. Insert size code 1505 with a right-hand cutting orientation. Verify cutter body pocket geometry against ANSI code ADMT 1505PDR-HS IC950 before installation.
Installation is performed by a CNC machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before changing inserts. Seat the insert fully into the cutter pocket and secure with the appropriate torx or hex key screw per the cutter body manufacturer specification. Inspect the pocket seating surface for chips or debris before inserting to prevent improper seating and premature edge failure.
