The ISCAR 5668600 is a replaceable carbide milling tip in the MM FM series, designed for use in compatible face mill tooling systems. Manufactured from sub-micrograin carbide in the IC908 grade with a PVD-applied TiAlN coating, this insert delivers consistent cutting performance across a broad range of workpiece materials. It features a 0.984 inch cutting diameter, a maximum depth of cut of 0.295 inches, and a 6-flute configuration that supports efficient chip evacuation and high feed rates. The right-hand cutting geometry and 90-degree lead angle make it well suited for face milling, shoulder milling, and related operations. Installation and replacement are performed by machinists and tool-room technicians.
This milling tip is intended for use in face mill bodies that accept the MM FM250-75R0.4-06T10 insert format. It is suited for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials, covering ISO material codes P, M, K, N, S, and H. Typical applications include production milling on CNC machining centers in both job-shop and production environments. No chipbreaker geometry is included, and coolant-through capability is not applicable to this insert style. The 0.016 inch corner radius helps manage edge wear during continuous cuts.
Designed for face mill bodies accepting the MM FM250-75R0.4-06T10 insert size within the ISCAR MM FM series. Verify body seat geometry and insert size code before ordering.
Insert replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and machine placed in a locked-out, de-energized state per applicable OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Use the appropriate torx or hex key specified by the tool body manufacturer to seat the insert to the correct clamp torque. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surfaces for chips or wear before installing a new tip. Handle carbide inserts carefully to avoid chipping the cutting edges prior to use.
