The ISCAR 5667760 is a solid carbide milling insert designed for the HELI3MILL series, sold under the ANSI and ISO designation HM390 TPKT 100304PDR IC830. This single-sided, triangular insert features a positive rake geometry and a helical cutting edge style that reduces cutting forces and improves chip flow during face and shoulder milling operations. The IC830 grade is PVD-coated with an AlTiN and TiN Sumotec finish, optimizing wear resistance and thermal stability when cutting steel, stainless steel, and superalloys including titanium. With 3 cutting edges, a right-hand orientation, and a screw-type holding method, this insert is suited for demanding production milling where tool life and edge consistency are critical. Licensed machinists and CNC tooling specialists are the primary installers.
This insert is engineered for milling steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium in both roughing and semi-finishing applications. The PDR chip breaker geometry promotes controlled chip formation across a maximum depth of cut of 0.3150 inches (8.00 mm), making it well-suited for aggressive material removal in production environments. It is compatible with HM390-10 series cutter bodies and is available in a minimum order quantity of 10 units per order, with individual package quantity of 1. Applications span aerospace, energy, and general metalworking industries where difficult-to-machine alloys are common.

Installation is performed by qualified CNC machinists or tooling technicians. Always power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Use the correct torx or hex key as specified by the cutter body manufacturer when tightening the insert clamping screw — do not overtighten. Inspect the insert pocket seat and clamping screw condition before seating a new insert to ensure proper contact and runout.
