The ISCAR 5666931 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying the ANSI designation H600 WXCU 070515T IC830, designed for high-feed face milling operations on demanding workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. The insert features a trigon (80-degree included angle) geometry with a negative rake angle and T-Land cutting edge style, contributing to strong edge stability under interrupted cuts and high chip loads. Applied with an AlTiN plus TiN dual-layer coating via PVD Sumotec process, grade IC830 delivers heat resistance and wear performance suited to both dry and wet cutting conditions. Licensed machinists and CNC programmers specify this insert for production environments where tool life consistency across multiple passes is critical.
This insert belongs to the HELI6FEED series and is compatible with FWX and EWX cutter bodies. It is suited for high-feed milling applications in manufacturing environments running steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium components. The double-sided design provides six cutting edges per insert, reducing cost-per-edge on high-volume production runs. Right-hand cutting orientation and screw-in holding method make it straightforward to index in the field without specialized fixtures.
Designed for use with ISCAR FWX and EWX series high-feed milling cutter bodies. Compatible cutter series designations are FWX and EWX per manufacturer specifications. Primary workpiece material codes P, M, and S cover steel, stainless steel, and superalloys including titanium.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and power is locked out before indexing or replacing inserts. Secure the insert using the designated clamping screw per the cutter body torque requirements specified in the ISCAR toolholder documentation - do not rely on hand-tight alone. Inspect the cutter pocket seating surface for chips or debris before seating a new insert to avoid seating errors that cause runout.
