The ISCAR 5651190 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in demanding metalworking applications. Measuring 5.5 mm in cutting diameter with a 16 mm length of cut, this 4-flute tool delivers consistent chip evacuation and surface finish across a wide range of workpiece materials. The TiAlN coating extends tool life by resisting heat buildup at elevated cutting speeds. With a 50 mm overall length and a matching 5.5 mm straight-cylindrical shank, it mounts directly into standard collet chucks and end mill holders. The 30-degree helix angle supports smooth, chatter-resistant cuts. Machining centers, CNC mills, and manual knee mills in job shop and production environments are the primary platforms for this tool.
This end mill is suited for milling operations on hardened steels, cast irons, stainless steels, carbon and alloy steels, and high-temperature alloys, corresponding to material groups H, K, M, P, and S. It is a single-end, center-cutting tool, meaning it can be used for plunge entry as well as peripheral and slot milling. Regular-length classification makes it appropriate for general-purpose pocketing, contouring, and profile work where extended reach is not required. It weighs approximately 0.037 pounds, making it a compact tool suited for small-feature machining.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide end mill for use in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines equipped with standard collet or end mill holder systems accepting a 5.5 mm straight shank. Compatible workpiece material groups include H, K, M, P, and S as designated in the supplier specifications.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician following the machine tool manufacturer's tooling procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before inserting or removing the end mill from its holder. Seat the shank to the full recommended engagement depth in the collet or holder, and verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut. Consult applicable shop safety standards and machine tool guidelines for proper RPM, feed, and depth-of-cut parameters based on the workpiece material.
