The ISCAR 5651181 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in demanding metalworking applications. It features a 6 mm cutting diameter with a 50 mm length of cut, a 30-degree helix angle, and 4 right-hand spiral flutes. The tool carries a TiAlN coating and is manufactured to ISCAR material grade IC900, making it well suited for interrupted cuts and elevated-temperature machining. The extra-long 150 mm overall length provides extended reach into deep cavities or pockets without requiring special toolholders. Licensed machinists and toolroom operators are the primary end users.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills where reach and precision matter. Its primary workpiece material codes cover hardened steels (H), cast irons (K), stainless and heat-resistant steels (M), general steels (P), and superalloys (S). Center-cutting capability allows plunge entry as well as conventional peripheral and slot milling. The straight-cylindrical shank fits standard ER and side-lock toolholders sized for 6 mm shanks. It is classified as an extra-long length tool, appropriate when standard-length end mills cannot reach the work surface.
Suitable for use in CNC and manual milling machines with standard ER collet or side-lock toolholders accepting a 6 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Rated for workpiece materials classified under ISCAR codes H, K, M, P, and S as stated by the manufacturer.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and the machine control in a safe state. Ensure the toolholder bore and collet are clean and free of chips before seating the shank. Verify runout with a dial indicator after clamping, as excessive runout accelerates flute wear on solid carbide tooling. Follow the machine manufacturer and toolholder manufacturer torque specifications when tightening collet nuts or set screws.
