The ISCAR 5623159 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for demanding metal removal in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. It carries a 0.75 inch cutting diameter with a 0.04 inch corner radius, a 5-flute variable helix geometry, and an AlTiN PVD coating that extends tool life at elevated cutting temperatures. The variable helix and variable index design, part of the ECI-H5R-CF Chatter Free series, reduce harmonic vibration during both roughing and finishing passes. This single-end tool is suited for CNC machining centers and milling operations where chatter suppression and surface finish are priorities.
This end mill fits production and job-shop environments running ferrous and difficult-to-machine workpiece materials. Typical applications include shoulder milling, slotting, and contour milling in aerospace, die and mold, and general metalworking operations. The medium-length flute geometry and straight cylindrical shank make it compatible with standard collet chucks and hydraulic toolholders. With a 1.87 inch reach length and 5 inch overall length, it handles moderate-depth features without excessive overhang. Installation is performed by machinists and CNC setup technicians on vertical and horizontal machining centers.
Designed for use with standard collet chuck and hydraulic toolholders accepting a 0.75 inch straight cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials (ISO material codes P, M, K, S, H).
Installation and tool changes must be performed by qualified machinists with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a safe, locked-out state. Seat the shank to the full recommended gauge length in the toolholder and torque the retention mechanism per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Do not exceed the toolholder manufacturer's runout tolerance, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear on variable-helix tools. Confirm cutting parameters against ISCAR published speeds and feeds for the specific workpiece material and coating grade before first use.
