The ISCAR 5623106 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for demanding metal-removal applications in ferrous and exotic materials. This single-end tool features a 0.219-inch cutting diameter, a 0.010-inch corner radius, and four right-hand helical flutes with a medium helix angle. An AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) PVD coating provides thermal resistance and hardness at the cutting edge, extending tool life when machining abrasive workpieces. The 2-inch overall length and 0.375-inch length of cut place this mill in the medium-length category, balancing reach with rigidity for general-purpose milling operations on machining centers and CNC mills.
This end mill is suited for roughing and finishing operations on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. The center-cutting geometry allows for plunge entry, enabling full slot milling and ramping passes without a pre-drilled pilot hole. The straight cylindrical shank with h6 tolerance fits standard collet chucks and toolholders with consistent runout control. It is appropriate for both production shop environments and job-shop work where a single tool must handle multiple material types across a range of cutting strategies.
Designed for use with standard collet-style toolholders accepting a 0.219-inch straight cylindrical shank. Compatible with CNC machining centers running steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard material workpieces per the ISCAR ECI-E-4R series specification.
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the machine spindle fully stopped and the controller in a safe state. Seat the shank fully into the collet or toolholder and verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning cuts. Avoid overtightening collet nuts, which can distort the bore and increase runout beyond the h6 shank tolerance. Cutting parameters should be selected based on workpiece material, machine rigidity, and coolant strategy — no coolant-through capability is present on this tool, so external coolant or air blast is required for chip clearing.
