The ISCAR 5622942 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in non-ferrous metal applications. It features a 3/8-inch cutting diameter with a 0.06-inch corner radius, three flutes, and a variable helix geometry that reduces chatter and improves surface finish at the cut. The short flute length type and extended reach configuration make it well-suited for both roughing and finishing passes in a single tool. At 2.5 inches overall length with a 3/8-inch straight cylindrical shank, this end mill fits standard toolholders and runs right-hand cutting direction. The fine grain solid carbide substrate is left uncoated, making it optimally matched to non-ferrous materials where uncoated tooling outperforms coated alternatives.
This end mill is intended for use on CNC machining centers and manual mills where non-ferrous metals such as aluminum, copper, and brass are the primary workpiece material. The coarse pitch combined with the variable helix makes it effective for both slotting and profiling operations. The center-cutting capability allows plunge entry without a pre-drilled pilot hole. It is part of the ISCAR ECAI-H3-CF series and is suited for shops running production or job-shop work on non-ferrous components requiring tight tolerances. The h6 diameter tolerance on both the mill and shank diameters supports accurate tool runout and repeatable fitment in precision collets and hydraulic chucks.
Designed for use with standard toolholders accepting a 3/8-inch straight cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece material is non-ferrous metal. Part of the ISCAR ECAI-H3-CF series.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the toolholder and torque the retention mechanism to the toolholder manufacturer specification. Verify tool runout with a dial indicator before beginning the cut, particularly for finishing operations where surface quality is critical.
