The ISCAR 5622931 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for both roughing and finishing operations on non-ferrous metals. It carries a 0.312-inch mill diameter, a 0.03-inch corner radius, and three right-hand spiral flutes with a variable helix geometry. The variable helix design, part of the ECAI-H3-CF Chatter Free series, reduces harmonic vibration during aggressive cuts and helps maintain surface finish quality. The end mill measures 2.5 inches in overall length with a 0.5-inch length of cut and is center-cutting, allowing plunge entry. It ships bright and uncoated, suited for applications where coating would alter tolerances on close-tolerance workpieces.
This end mill is designed for machining non-ferrous metals including aluminum alloys, copper alloys, and similar materials. The extended reach configuration, with a 0.9-inch reach length, makes it suitable for pocketing, contouring, and slotting operations where clearance to the workpiece is limited. The single-end, short-series design fits standard straight-bore toolholders. The coarse pitch and variable helix make it particularly effective for high-speed and high-feed strategies common in CNC milling environments. It is intended for use by machinists in job shops, production machining, and tool rooms.
Designed for use with standard straight-bore cylindrical toolholders. The shank diameter is 0.312 inches with an h6 tolerance, and the mill diameter also carries an h6 tolerance for precise toolholder fitment. Intended for non-ferrous metal workpiece materials as noted in the ECAI-H3-CF series specifications.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the toolholder manufacturer's clamping torque and runout specifications. Confirm toolholder bore compatibility with the 0.312-inch shank diameter before mounting. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is locked out before changing tooling. Do not exceed the tool's rated length of cut when programming depth of pass.
