The ISCAR 5622909 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for both roughing and finishing operations in non-ferrous metal applications. The tool measures 1/4 inch in diameter with a 0.02 inch corner radius, a 0.35 inch length of cut (LOC noted in title; actual decimal LOC is 0.8661 inches per spec), and a 2.5 inch overall length. The 3-flute, right-hand helical geometry features a variable helix design from the ECAI-H3-CF Chatter Free series, which reduces harmonic vibration during high-speed cutting passes. It arrives uncoated (bright finish) and is single-end configuration. Machinists and CNC operators working in job shops and production environments will find this tool suited to aluminum, copper, brass, and similar N-grade non-ferrous workpiece materials.
This end mill fits standard toolholder setups accepting a 1/4 inch straight-cylindrical shank. With an extended reach length of 1.25 inches and a short flute length type, it handles pocketing, profiling, and contouring where chip evacuation and vibration control are priorities. The coarse pitch and variable helix angle of the ECAI-H3-CF series are engineered specifically to minimize chatter in non-ferrous cuts, making this tool well suited for high-RPM CNC milling of aluminum components, die work, and prototype parts where surface finish and dimensional accuracy matter.
Designed for use with standard toolholders accepting a 1/4 inch straight-cylindrical shank; shank and mill diameter both held to h6 tolerance. Intended for non-ferrous metal workpiece materials (material code N), including aluminum, copper, and brass alloys.
Installation and tool changes must be performed by qualified machinists with the machine spindle fully stopped and the control in an E-stop or locked-out state per applicable shop lockout/tagout procedures. Seat the shank fully and evenly in a compatible collet or toolholder to the manufacturer-specified minimum engagement depth before tightening. Inspect the cutting edges and corner radius for chips or wear before each setup. Do not exceed the toolholder manufacturer's runout specifications, as excess runout accelerates edge wear on carbide tooling.
