The ISCAR 5622640 is a solid carbide corner chamfer end mill designed for precision material removal in demanding machining environments. Part of the EC-E4L-CF series, this single-end mill features a 4 mm cutting diameter, a 10 mm length of cut, and four flutes with a variable flute type and a 38-degree helix angle. The cutting edges carry a 45-degree chamfer angle with a 0.15 mm chamfer width, allowing it to break and define edges in a single pass. An AlTiN (PVD) coating provides thermal resistance and wear protection during high-speed operations. The 6 mm straight-cylindrical shank suits standard collet and hydraulic toolholding setups used by CNC machinists and toolroom operators.
This end mill is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, and cast iron as primary workpiece materials, with secondary capability on non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. The IC900 material grade supports stable performance across roughing and finishing operations. Rated application types include shouldering, slotting, ramp-down, helical interpolation, drill milling, and plunging and recessing. The long-reach geometry, with a 14 mm reach length and 57 mm overall length, allows access in deeper pockets or stepped-feature scenarios where standard-length tools cannot reach.
Designed as an OEM-spec replacement or direct-application tool within the ISCAR EC-E4L-CF series. Compatible with standard 6 mm straight-bore collet chucks, ER collet systems, and hydraulic toolholders. Primary workpiece material codes P, M, and K; secondary codes N, S, and H as specified by ISCAR material classification.
Installation should be performed by a qualified CNC machinist or toolroom technician familiar with carbide end mill handling and runout requirements. Ensure the machine spindle and toolholder are clean and free of chips before seating the shank; contamination causes runout that accelerates edge wear on small-diameter carbide tools. Confirm shank-to-holder engagement meets the toolholder manufacturer's minimum grip-length specification before applying cutting loads. Follow shop-standard speeds and feeds for the IC900 grade and the specific workpiece material being cut.
