The ISCAR 5622109 is a solid carbide corner chamfer end mill engineered for high-performance material removal in steel, stainless steel, and cast iron applications. Measuring 0.375 inches in diameter with a 0.75-inch length of cut and 3.0-inch overall length, this single-end mill carries a 45-degree chamfer angle and a 0.012-inch chamfer width ground to tight tolerances. The 45-degree high-helix design promotes chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces. An AlTiN PVD coating delivers heat and oxidation resistance at elevated cutting temperatures. It is installed and used by machinists and tool-and-die professionals running CNC or manual milling equipment in job shop and production environments.
This end mill is suited for shouldering, slotting, ramp-down entry, helical interpolation, drill milling, and plunging and recessing operations. It handles primary workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, and cast iron, and is also rated for secondary materials such as non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. The center-cutting geometry and chipbreaker configuration allow it to transition between multiple operations without a tool change, making it effective in short-run and production setups where cycle time and tool count matter.
Designed for use in straight-bore milling chucks, collet chucks, and shrink-fit holders accepting a 0.375-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool is secured in a clean, properly sized collet or toolholder before tightening. Verify runout at the cutting edge with a dial indicator before production cuts, as excess runout accelerates wear on carbide tooling. Follow machine-tool manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop safety procedures when setting tool offsets and cutting parameters.
