The ISCAR 5621958 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding production environments. With a 0.5 inch cutting diameter, six spiral flutes, and a 45-degree helix angle, this tool delivers aggressive material removal with excellent chip evacuation. The submicron grain carbide substrate provides edge strength and wear resistance, while the AlTiN coating extends tool life in elevated-heat cutting conditions. At 3 inches OAL with a 1 inch length of cut, it is sized for standard reach milling applications. Centercutting geometry allows direct plunge entry. Installation and use are handled by machinists and CNC tooling professionals.
This end mill is suited for milling operations across a broad range of workpiece materials, including hardened steels, stainless steels, cast iron, non-ferrous alloys, and high-temperature alloys, consistent with its primary workpiece material codes H, K, M, P, and S. The straight cylindrical shank and 0.5 inch shank diameter make it compatible with standard ER collet chucks and end mill holders commonly found in vertical machining centers and CNC milling setups. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration is the standard orientation for conventional and climb milling.
Designed for use with workpiece material groups H, K, M, P, and S as specified by the manufacturer. Fits standard 0.5 inch bore collet chucks and end mill holders. Consult machine tool and holder specifications to confirm runout and clamping requirements before use.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC tooling technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before changing tooling. Seat the straight shank fully into the collet or holder and torque the retention nut per the holder manufacturer's specifications. Verify tool runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut, as runout directly affects tool life and surface finish with multi-flute carbide end mills.
