The ISCAR 5621257 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding metalworking applications. The tool measures 0.313 inches in diameter with a 0.06-inch corner radius, a 2.5-inch overall length, and a 0.313-inch straight-cylindrical shank held to an h6 tolerance. Four right-hand helical flutes with a medium helix angle provide efficient chip evacuation during both roughing and finishing passes. An AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) PVD coating applied via physical vapor deposition adds hardness and heat resistance at the cutting edge. Licensed machinists and CNC mill operators use this tool on vertical and horizontal machining centers across a wide range of ferrous and exotic workpiece materials.
This end mill is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials, covering ISO material groups P, M, K, S, and H. It is a single-end, center-cutting tool, allowing plunge entry as well as conventional peripheral and slot milling. The medium-length flute geometry, with a 1.4961-inch length of cut and a 0.625-inch reach length, positions it for general-purpose profiling, contouring, and semi-finish work in production and job-shop environments. It belongs to the ISCAR ECI-E-4R series and is intended for use with a compatible toolholder.
Designed for use with a compatible toolholder accepting a 0.313-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Rated for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials (ISO groups P, M, K, S, and H) as stated by the manufacturer.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the control is in an E-stop or safe state before loading or removing the tool. Seat the shank fully into the toolholder and torque the retention mechanism to the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Verify runout at the cutting edge with a dial indicator before beginning production cuts, and confirm that feeds, speeds, and depth of cut are set within the limits established for this diameter and coating.
