The ISCAR 5620988 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance metal removal in demanding machining environments. Built from submicron-grade carbide and coated with TiAlN, it handles elevated cutting temperatures and maintains edge integrity across extended runs. The 6-flute configuration with a 45-degree spiral helix delivers efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes. At 6 inches overall length with a 3.25-inch length of cut, this extra-long geometry reaches deep pockets and cavities that standard-length end mills cannot access. The 0.75-inch diameter matches the straight-cylindrical shank diameter for direct collet or end mill holder fitment.
This end mill is suited for machining a broad range of workpiece materials including hardened steels, cast irons, stainless steels, carbon and alloy steels, and high-temperature superalloys, corresponding to material codes H, K, M, P, and S. It performs well in vertical machining centers, horizontal machining centers, and CNC milling machines where deep-reach finishing or semi-finishing passes are required. The centercutting design allows plunge entry, adding flexibility in complex toolpath strategies. It is typically deployed by machinists and CNC programmers in job shop, aerospace, die-mold, and general manufacturing settings.
Compatible with workpiece material codes H, K, M, P, and S as specified by the manufacturer, covering hardened steels, cast irons, stainless steels, carbon and alloy steels, and superalloys. Designed for use in standard 0.75-inch diameter end mill holders, collet chucks, and hydraulic chucks on CNC milling equipment.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Secure the shank fully into the holder to the recommended gauge-line depth before tightening to avoid runout. Verify spindle and toolholder cleanliness before assembly, as contamination affects runout and tool life. Do not exceed the toolholder manufacturer's rated clamping torque range, and confirm tool stick-out is minimized to the extent the application allows.
