The ISCAR 5620948 is a single-end corner chamfer end mill designed for high-performance metal removal in steel, stainless steel, and cast iron applications. Built from solid carbide in the IC900 material grade and coated with an AlTiN (PVD) finish, this tool delivers thermal resistance and wear life in demanding cutting environments. It carries a 5/8 inch cutting diameter, a 0.687 inch length of cut, and a 38-degree medium helix angle. The 3-flute, right-hand cutting geometry supports both roughing and finishing passes. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals working on CNC mills and machining centers are the primary users.
This end mill is suited for milling operations on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. Its extended-reach configuration, with a 1.25 inch reach length and a 0.590 inch neck diameter, makes it practical for shouldering, slotting, ramp-down entry, helical interpolation, drill milling, and plunging and recessing operations. The centercutting geometry allows direct plunge entry without pre-drilling. It is cataloged under the ISCAR ECSI-E-3 series with manufacturer catalog number ECSI-E-3 625-687-C625.
Designed for use in standard straight-cylindrical 5/8 inch shank toolholders on CNC vertical and horizontal machining centers. Primary workpiece materials are steel, stainless steel, and cast iron; secondary workpiece materials include non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before loading or unloading the tool. Seat the straight-cylindrical shank fully into the toolholder collet or end mill holder and torque the retention mechanism per the toolholder manufacturer specification. Verify runout at the cutting diameter before engaging the workpiece.
