The ISCAR 5607773 is a solid carbide triangular milling insert carrying the HM390 TCKT 0703PCTR IC808 designation, designed for use in HELI3MILL-series face and shoulder milling cutters. Manufactured from submicron-grade carbide and coated with a multilayer PVD system of TiAlN, AlTiN, and TiN, it delivers wear resistance across a broad range of workpiece materials. The insert measures 0.307 inches in both length and width, with a thickness of 0.124 inches and a corner radius of 0.0197 inches. With three cutting edges, a positive rake geometry, and a helical cutting-edge style, this insert reduces cutting forces and supports stable chip evacuation in demanding milling operations. It is seated and held by screw-clamping in compatible HM390-07 cutter bodies.
The 5607773 insert is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials, covering ISO material codes P, M, K, S, and H. It is appropriate for both roughing and finishing passes where a maximum depth of cut of 0.197 inches is acceptable. The right-hand, single-sided configuration and PCTR chip breaker geometry make it a practical choice for high-feed shoulder milling operations in production machining environments. Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the cutter body is removed from the spindle or the machine is in a locked-out, de-energized state before seating or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torx or hex key to secure the clamping screw to the manufacturer-specified seating without over-torquing, which can crack the insert or damage the pocket. Inspect the insert pocket for chips or debris and confirm the insert is fully seated and stable before returning the tool to service.
