The ISCAR 5607518 is a solid carbide, uncoated triangular milling insert designed for the HELI3MILL HM390-10 cutter series. Manufactured to grade IC28, this single-sided insert carries a TPCR insert style with a positive rake geometry and a helical cutting edge. It measures 4.00 mm (0.1570 inches) thick with an inscribed circle of 7.50 mm (0.2953 inches) and a corner radius of 0.80 mm (0.0315 inches). The PDFR-P chip breaker promotes efficient chip evacuation during milling operations. With three cutting edges per insert and a maximum depth of cut of 8.00 mm (0.3150 inches), it delivers productive material removal on non-ferrous workpieces. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install this insert in production milling environments.
This insert is intended for milling non-ferrous metals, designated by primary workpiece material code N. It is suited for use in right-hand configurations on compatible HM390-10 cutter bodies. The uncoated bright finish of grade IC28 carbide is well matched to aluminum, copper alloys, and similar non-ferrous materials where a sharp, low-friction edge is preferred. Typical applications include face milling, shoulder milling, and ramping operations in production or jobshop CNC environments. The screw-held mounting method ensures positive seating and repeatable edge location across insert changes.
Designed for use with HM390-10 series cutter bodies. ANSI code HM390 TPCR1003PDFR-P IC28; ISO code HM390 TPCR1003PDFR-P. Conforms to ANSI and ISO 13399 standards.
Installation is performed by machinists or CNC setup technicians. Always power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Use the appropriate torx or hex key to the cutter body manufacturer torque specification for the screw-held pocket. Inspect the insert pocket seat and clamping screw for wear or damage before seating a new insert, and verify correct insert orientation for right-hand cutting direction before resuming operation.
