The ISCAR 5607512 is a solid carbide milling insert designed for high-performance face and shoulder milling in the HELI3MILL HM390 cutter series. Carrying the ANSI/ISO designation HM390 TPKT 1003PDR IC830, it features a triangular geometry with three usable cutting edges, a positive rake angle, and a helical cutting edge style. The IC830 grade substrate is coated with a Sumotec PVD AlTiN and TiN multilayer coating applied via physical vapor deposition, delivering wear resistance and thermal stability in demanding cutting applications. The PDR chip breaker geometry is engineered for controlled chip formation across a range of cut depths up to 0.315 inches. Licensed machinists and CNC tooling technicians are the primary installers of this insert.
This insert is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium workpiece materials, covering ISO material groups P, M, and S. It is used in right-hand cutter bodies within the HM390-10 series, making it appropriate for both roughing and semi-finishing passes on machining centers running ferrous and exotic alloy components. The screw-clamping holding method provides secure seating in the pocket at elevated feed rates. The insert is supplied individually but must be ordered in multiples of 10 per manufacturer minimum order quantity.

Insert seating and replacement are performed by qualified CNC tooling technicians or machinists following the cutter body manufacturer torque guidelines for the clamping screw. Ensure the cutter body pocket is clean and free of chips or debris before seating the insert. Always index or replace inserts with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a locked-out, zero-energy state per applicable shop safety procedures. Handle carbide inserts carefully to avoid edge chipping prior to first use.
