The ISCAR 5607307 is a solid carbide milling insert in the H490 ANKX 170624PNTR IC808 configuration, designed for high-performance face and shoulder milling operations. It carries a multilayer PVD coating — TiAlN, AlTiN, and TiN — classified under ISCAR's Sumotec PVD coating system, which supports cutting in demanding workpiece materials. The insert features a parallelogram shape with an 85-degree included angle, a negative rake geometry, and a helical cutting edge style. It measures 0.4130 inches thick and 0.4330 inches inscribed circle diameter, with a maximum depth of cut of 0.3940 inches. The IC808 grade uses a submicron carbide substrate suited for interrupted cuts and high cutting speeds.
This insert is used in metalworking and machining applications across manufacturing environments, including job shops and production facilities. It is compatible with milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials — covering ISO material codes P, M, K, S, and H. The PNTR chip breaker geometry supports chip control across these material groups. It is installed in H490 ANK17 series cutter bodies using a screw-held mounting method. Right-hand cutting orientation. Both sides of the double-sided insert are usable, providing four total cutting edges per insert.
Designed for use with H490 ANK17 series milling cutter bodies. ANSI code H490 ANKX 170624PNTR IC808; ISO code H490 ANKX 170624PNTR. Insert size code 170624.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians using the screw-held clamping method standard to H490-series cutter bodies. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the correct torque driver specified by the cutter body manufacturer for the insert clamping screw — do not overtighten. Inspect the insert pocket seating surface for chips or debris before seating a new insert to ensure proper contact and runout.
