The ISCAR 5607266 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying the ANSI designation T490 LNMT 080408PNR IC830, designed for high-productivity shoulder and face milling operations. It features a butterfly (LNMT) insert shape with a helical cutting edge style and a negative rake geometry, giving it four usable cutting edges per insert. The IC830 grade uses a Sumotec PVD-applied AlTiN plus TiN coating for thermal resistance and wear performance when cutting ferrous and difficult-to-machine materials. The insert measures 0.3382 inches in effective cutting edge length and 0.2930 inches thick, with a corner radius of 0.0315 inches (1/32 inch). It is held in the cutter body by a screw-clamp method and is designed for right-hand cutting direction.
This insert is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium alloys in both roughing and finishing applications. It belongs to the HELITANG series and is compatible with T490 LNK08 cutter bodies. The PNR chip breaker geometry supports controlled chip formation across a range of depths of cut up to 0.3150 inches (8.00 mm). Typical applications include shoulder milling, slot milling, and ramping in aerospace, energy, and general machining environments where tool life on tough materials is a priority. Licensed machinists and CNC tooling specialists are the primary installers and end users.
Compatible with T490 LNK08 series cutter bodies. Conforms to ANSI code T490 LNMT 080408PNR IC830 and ISO 13399 standards. Insert size code 080408.
Installation is performed by CNC machinists or tooling technicians using a torx or hex key driver matched to the cutter body screw specification. Always de-energize and lock out the spindle before changing inserts. Seat the insert fully into the pocket and confirm the screw is snug before resuming cuts. Inspect the pocket seating surface for chips or damage each time the insert is indexed to maintain dimensional accuracy.
