The ISCAR 5607265 is a solid carbide milling insert designed for high-performance metal removal in demanding machining environments. Carrying the ANSI and ISO 13399 designation T490 LNMT 080408PNR IC808, this butterfly-style LNMT insert belongs to the HELITANG series and is engineered for use with T490 LNK08 cutter bodies. It features a PVD-applied Sumotec multilayer coating combining TiAlN, AlTiN, and TiN for elevated wear resistance and thermal stability. The IC808 submicron carbide grade is well suited to interrupted cuts and the high heat generated when machining ferrous and exotic alloys. Double-sided construction with four cutting edges and a negative rake geometry helps control cutting forces and extend usable tool life per insert.
This insert is intended for milling operations on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. It fits squarely into production and job-shop environments running T490 LNK08 face and shoulder mills on CNC machining centers. The helical cutting edge style and PNR chip breaker geometry reduce vibration and promote chip evacuation in both roughing and semi-finishing passes. Right-hand cutting orientation, screw-in holding, and a 90-degree included angle make it a direct fit for standard T490 cutter assemblies. Installers should verify cutter body seat condition before indexing to a fresh edge.
Designed for use with the ISCAR T490 LNK08 cutter series. Conforms to ANSI and ISO 13399 standards under designation T490 LNMT 080408PNR IC808.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup personnel. The machine spindle must be fully stopped and the cutter body secured before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torx or hex key to the cutter manufacturer's specified seating procedure when tightening the clamping screw - do not over-torque. Inspect the pocket seat and clamping screw for wear or debris before seating a new edge to ensure proper insert support and prevent premature failure.
