The ISCAR 5606594 is a solid carbide milling insert from the HELIPLUS series, designed for high-performance face and shoulder milling in demanding metal-cutting applications. Carrying the ANKT 0702PNR geometry with IC830 grade, this insert features an AlTiN plus TiN PVD coating applied via Sumotec PVD process, delivering thermal resistance and wear protection at elevated cutting speeds. The parallelogram insert shape with an 85-degree included angle, negative rake geometry, and honed cutting edge style supports stable, repeatable chip formation. Primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. Installation is performed by qualified machinists using screw-type insert holding on compatible milling cutters.
This insert is suited for high-feed milling operations on steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium in both production and job-shop environments. It is a right-hand, single-sided insert with two cutting edges, allowing one index before replacement. The R chip breaker geometry is optimized for controlling chip evacuation during aggressive depth-of-cut passes. Compatible cutter series include HP ANK-07 and HP.90-07 shoulder and face milling bodies. Typical applications include roughing and semi-finishing passes where consistent tool life and edge integrity are critical.
Designed for use with HELIPLUS series milling cutter bodies HP ANK-07 and HP.90-07. Insert size code 0702 with inscribed circle of 0.1770 inches. Verify cutter body pocket geometry and insert seating before use.
Insert mounting and replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Power down and lock out the spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the manufacturer-specified torque wrench and insert screw to seat the insert securely in the pocket; over-tightening or under-tightening the clamping screw can lead to insert movement or fracture during cutting. Inspect the pocket seat and clamping screw threads for wear or damage before installing a new insert.
