The ISCAR 5606368 is a solid carbide milling insert designed for use in high-productivity face and shoulder milling operations. Carrying the ANSI and ISO 13399 designation H490 ANKX 120508PNTR IC330, this insert belongs to the HELIDO series and features a parallelogram shape with a negative rake geometry and helical cutting edge style. The IC330 grade carbide substrate is finished with a PVD-applied TiCN and TiN multilayer coating for wear resistance and edge toughness. With four usable cutting edges and a right-hand orientation, it delivers consistent performance across high-demand applications in steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium.
This insert is suited for milling operations on steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium workpieces in both production shop and job-shop environments. It is compatible with ISCAR H490 ANK12 cutter bodies and is indexed using a screw-holding method. The PNTR chip breaker geometry aids in chip evacuation during interrupted and continuous cuts. With a maximum depth of cut of 0.4330 inches and an effective cutting edge length of 0.4330 inches, it handles moderate-to-aggressive material removal rates. Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Always power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts.
