The ISCAR 5606026 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying the manufacturer designation H490 ANCX 090408PDR IC330. It is a double-sided, negative-rake parallelogram insert with four cutting edges, designed for indexable milling operations. The insert features a PVD-applied TiCN and TiN multilayer coating under the IC330 grade, which is engineered for cutting steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. The helical cutting edge geometry with a PDR chip breaker promotes smooth chip formation and reduces cutting forces in demanding milling applications. Thickness measures 0.205 inches and inscribed circle diameter is 0.256 inches. This insert is installed by CNC machinists and toolroom technicians using compatible ISCAR H490 ANK09 series milling cutters.
This insert is suited for face milling, shoulder milling, and general-purpose milling operations on steel and difficult-to-machine materials including stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium alloys. It is a right-hand insert with an 85-degree included angle, a 1/32-inch corner radius, and a maximum depth of cut of 0.315 inches. The screw-clamping hold method ensures secure seating under high-feed conditions. Typical applications include production machining environments running CNC vertical and horizontal machining centers as well as manual milling machines with appropriate arbor setups.
Designed for use with ISCAR H490 ANK09 series milling cutter bodies. Insert size code is 090408. Conforms to ANSI and ISO 13399 standards. ANSI code: H490 ANCX 090408PDR IC330. ISO code: H490 ANCX 090408PDR.
This insert is installed and indexed by machinists or toolroom technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Use the appropriate ISCAR torx or hex key to seat the clamping screw; do not over-torque or substitute fasteners. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for chips or debris before indexing to the next cutting edge.
