The ISCAR 5605899 is a solid carbide milling insert designed for high-performance metal removal in demanding machining applications. Manufactured to the T490 LNHT 080416PNR IC830 specification, this butterfly-style insert features a helical cutting edge geometry with a negative rake angle and a 90-degree included angle. The IC830 grade substrate is coated with AlTiN and TiN using a PVD Sumotec process, delivering thermal resistance and edge toughness. With four usable cutting edges and a double-sided configuration, this insert maximizes tool life per unit. It is sized with an inscribed circle of 0.167 inches and a thickness of 0.285 inches, fitting the T490 LNK08 cutter series. Installation is performed by licensed machinists and CNC tooling specialists.

This insert is engineered for milling steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium — material application codes P, M, and S per ISO classification. The helical cutting edge style reduces cutting forces during shoulder milling and plunge operations.
