The ISCAR 5605864 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying the ANSI designation LNET 081804-TN-N in the IC910 manufacturer grade. It features a butterfly (LNET) insert shape with a neutral hand orientation, a negative rake angle of 20 degrees, and a T-Land cutting edge style. The insert is coated with AlTiN via a PVD process, providing wear resistance suited to demanding interrupted and continuous cuts. With 4 cutting edges per insert and a screw holding method, it delivers consistent performance in slot milling and similar operations. Primary workpiece materials are steel and cast iron. This insert is installed by machinists and tooling technicians in production and job-shop environments.
This insert belongs to the TANGSLOT series and is designed for slot milling applications in steel and cast iron workpieces, covering both P and K material groups per ISO classification. It is compatible with the ETS-LN08 and FDN-LN08 cutter series. Typical use includes high-feed slotting operations where a secure screw-lock insert seat and a T-Land edge prep are required to manage chip load and edge stability. The single-sided design simplifies indexing during insert changes at the machine.
Designed for use in ETS-LN08 and FDN-LN08 cutter bodies from the ISCAR TANGSLOT series. Insert size code 081804 corresponds to the LN08 insert pocket specification. Suitable for machining steel and cast iron workpieces in P and K material groups.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the manufacturer-specified torx or hex key to seat the clamping screw — do not overtighten or use impact tools on the insert screw. Verify the insert pocket is clean and free of chips before seating to ensure proper contact and prevent premature edge failure.
