The ISCAR 5605120 is a solid carbide helical flute thread mill designed for cutting internal UNF threads at 1/2-20. It carries a 3/8-inch shank diameter and a 0.375-inch cutting diameter, with a length of cut of 0.880 inches and an overall length of 3.0 inches. The four right-hand helical flutes are coated with TiAlN and Titanium Nitride for heat resistance and extended tool life in demanding milling operations. Coolant-through capability allows for effective chip evacuation during deep or high-speed passes. This tool is installed and operated by machinists and CNC tooling professionals working in precision threading applications.
This thread mill is suited for internal threading operations on CNC machining centers where a single tool must produce a finished 1/2-20 UNF thread profile. The helical flute geometry makes it effective in materials that generate significant cutting heat or require close tolerance control on thread form. At 20 teeth per inch and a 0.500-inch minimum nominal diameter, it is appropriate for tight-tolerance bores in ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces across aerospace, automotive, and general manufacturing environments.
