The ISCAR 5604817 is a solid carbide milling insert in the HELIPLUS series, designed for high-performance milling of steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. The insert carries ANSI and ISO 13399 designations of HP ANKT 070216PNTR IC928 and features a TiAlN PVD coating in manufacturer grade IC928. Its parallelogram shape with an 85-degree included angle and negative rake geometry delivers controlled cutting action and edge stability during aggressive milling passes. With two cutting edges and a T-Land cutting edge style, it supports productive use before replacement. The chip breaker designation is PNTR. Maximum depth of cut reaches 0.3030 inches (7.70 mm), making it well suited for moderate-to-aggressive radial and axial engagement in production milling applications.
This insert is intended for use in milling cutters within the HP ANK-07 and HP.90-07 cutter series. It is installed via screw holding method in right-hand orientation. Typical applications include face milling, shoulder milling, and high-feed pocket milling on ferrous and difficult-to-machine workpiece materials including carbon steel, stainless steel, nickel-based superalloys, and titanium alloys. The HELIPLUS platform is commonly used in aerospace, energy, and general metalworking production environments where consistent tool life and chip control on challenging materials are priorities.
Designed for use with HP ANK-07 and HP.90-07 HELIPLUS series milling cutter bodies. Insert is held by screw and is right-hand orientation. The ANSI code is HP ANKT 070216PNTR IC928 and the ISO code is HP ANKT 070216PNTR per ISO 13399.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians. Ensure the cutter body is fully removed from the spindle and the machine is locked out before seating or replacing inserts. Use the correct torque driver for the insert clamping screw — refer to the cutter body manufacturer specifications for fastener torque. Inspect the insert pocket seat and clamping screw threads for wear or contamination before installing a new insert.
