The ISCAR 5604023 is a concave radius replaceable milling tip from the Multimaster MM HR series, designed for modular milling tool systems used by machinists and tool technicians in production and job-shop environments. This right-hand, 2-flute carbide tip carries an IC908 manufacturer grade with a PVD-applied TiAlN coating over a sub-micrograin carbide substrate. The cutting diameter measures 0.268 inches, the functional length is 0.492 inches, and the maximum depth of cut reaches 0.374 inches. A 90-degree lead angle and 0.063-inch corner radius define the tip geometry for corner-rounding operations. The tip threads into compatible Multimaster shanks, making it a field-swappable cutting unit without disturbing the tool holder setup.
This milling tip is suited for corner-rounding and profiling operations across a broad range of workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. It fits production milling applications on CNC machining centers where consistent corner geometry and rapid tip changes are priorities. The 2-flute configuration supports chip clearance in both roughing and light finishing passes. It meets ANSI standards and carries the full tip designation MM HR1.6/063-6.8-2T06 for cross-referencing within the Multimaster catalog system.
Designed for use with ISCAR Multimaster modular milling shanks that accept the MM HR insert size 1.6/063-6.8 interface. Compatible workpiece material codes include P, M, K, N, S, and H per ISCAR classification.
Installation is performed by a machinist or toolroom technician using the appropriate Multimaster torque wrench or drive key for the threaded tip interface. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before replacing the tip. Clean the mating threads on the shank before seating the new tip to ensure proper torque and runout. Do not exceed the clamping specification for the shank size as defined in the Multimaster tooling documentation.
