The ISCAR 5604015 is a solid carbide milling insert in the LNMT 150608ANTN MM geometry, designed for high-performance milling operations in demanding applications. Carrying the IC928 manufacturer grade with a PVD-applied TiAlN coating, this insert delivers thermal and wear resistance suited for cutting steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. The butterfly-shaped insert features a negative rake angle, a T-Land cutting edge style, and four usable cutting edges on a double-sided body. The inscribed circle measures 0.2360 inches and thickness is 0.5080 inches, with a corner radius of 0.0315 inches (1/32 inch). It is installed via a screw-holding method and is intended for use by machinists and tooling technicians in CNC and conventional milling setups.
This insert is rated for a maximum depth of cut of 0.2950 inches (7.50 mm) and an effective cutting edge length of 0.6024 inches. The MM chip breaker geometry makes it well-suited for milling steel and stainless steel at moderate to aggressive parameters, as well as superalloys and titanium where tool life under heat is critical. It conforms to ANSI and ISO 13399 standards and carries material grade classifications C1, C2, C5, and C6, reflecting its versatility across a broad range of ferrous and difficult-to-machine workpiece materials in both roughing and semi-finishing operations.

Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician with the machine powered down and properly locked out before changing inserts. Use the correct torx or hex key as specified by the cutter body manufacturer when seating the crew to avoid stripping the insert pocket. Inspect the pocket seat and clamping screw for wear or debris before installing a new insert. Follow the cutter body manufacturer recommendations for insert orientation and confirm the correct hand designation before running the spindle.
