The ISCAR 5603832 is a solid carbide milling insert designed for use in HELI2000 series HM90-10 cutter bodies. It carries the ANSI designation HM90 APKT 100316PDR IC928 and features a TiAlN coating applied via PVD process, which supports performance in demanding cutting environments. The insert has a parallelogram shape with an 85-degree included angle, a right-hand cutting orientation, and a positive rake geometry. Thickness measures 0.139 inches and the inscribed circle diameter is 0.266 inches. With two cutting edges and a honed cutting edge style, this insert is well suited for high-productivity milling operations on ferrous and exotic workpiece materials.
This insert is intended for milling applications involving steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium, corresponding to material grade classifications C1, C2, C5, and C6 and ISO workpiece material codes P, M, and S. The PDR chip breaker geometry supports controlled chip evacuation during moderate to aggressive cutting passes. Maximum depth of cut reaches 0.362 inches (8.00 mm). The insert is held in the cutter body by a screw-clamp method, which is standard for APKT-style tooling. Typical use cases include face milling, shoulder milling, and ramping operations on machining centers in job shop and production environments.
Designed for use in HM90-10 series cutter bodies within the ISCAR HELI2000 cutter family. Cutter series compatibility is listed as HM90-10. Verify seat geometry and insert pocket dimensions against the cutter body specification before installation.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the cutter body is secured or removed from the spindle before replacing inserts. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key to seat the clamping screw to the cutter manufacturer's specified seating procedure — do not overtighten, as this can crack the carbide insert. Inspect the insert pocket for debris or wear before seating a new insert.
