The ISCAR 5603722 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying ANSI and ISO 13399 designations HP ADKT 2207PDTR IC928. It belongs to the HELIPLUS series and is designed for high-productivity face and shoulder milling operations. The insert features a parallelogram shape with an 85-degree included angle, a positive rake geometry, and a T-Land cutting edge style that promotes controlled chip flow and reduced cutting forces. The IC928 grade combines a PVD-applied TiAlN coating over a solid carbide substrate, delivering thermal resistance and edge stability when cutting steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. Two cutting edges per insert are provided, and the screw-in holding method ensures repeatable seating.
This insert is suited for milling applications in ferrous and high-temperature alloy materials where consistent edge life and surface finish are required. Typical installations include CNC machining centers performing shoulder milling, ramping, and face milling passes on steel and stainless components. The right-hand configuration and PDTR chip breaker geometry make it well-matched to high-feed passes at depths of cut up to 0.89 inches (22.60 mm). Machinists and tooling engineers working in job-shop, aerospace, and production environments will find this insert appropriate for ISO material groups P, M, and S.
Designed for use with the ISCAR HELIPLUS HP F90-22 cutter series. Confirmed compatible with ISO material groups P (steel), M (stainless steel), and S (superalloys and titanium), as well as secondary material group S per manufacturer specifications.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool is secured in a vise or holder before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torx or hex key to tighten the clamping screw to the cutter body manufacturer's specified torque, referenced in the HP F90-22 toolholder documentation. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surfaces for chips or debris before seating a new insert to prevent improper seating and premature edge failure.
