The ISCAR 5603708 is a chamfer replaceable milling tip designed for use in the Multimaster (MM HCD) modular tooling system. Made from sub-micrograin carbide with an IC908 manufacturer grade and a PVD-applied TiAlN coating, this tip delivers wear resistance and thermal stability in demanding milling applications. It carries a 25-degree chamfer angle, an included angle of 140 degrees, and a lead angle of 50 degrees. With two flutes and a right-hand cut orientation, it is suited for high-feed chamfering passes in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. Licensed machinists and CNC tooling specialists are the primary installers.
This tip fits into the MM HCD modular milling system and is appropriate for both production and job-shop environments where chamfering is performed on steel (P), stainless steel (M), cast iron (K), non-ferrous metals (N), superalloys and titanium (S), and hard materials (H). The replaceable-tip format reduces downtime by allowing rapid tip changes without removing the entire tool body from the spindle. It conforms to ANSI standards and is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 2 units.
Designed for use with ISCAR Multimaster MM HCD series modular milling holders accepting the .500-080 insert size. No coolant-through capability; dry or flood coolant at the spindle is the applicable method.
Installation of replaceable milling tips should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a locked-out, de-energized state. Use the correct torque wrench and mating Multimaster holder per the tool body manufacturer specifications — do not overtighten the coupling interface. Inspect the mating taper and threads on the holder for chips or damage before seating the new tip. Verify runout after installation before resuming cutting operations.
