The ISCAR 5603552 is a solid carbide milling insert designed for high-efficiency face and shoulder milling in non-ferrous metal applications. Carrying the ANSI designation HM90 AXCR 150508R-P IC28, this single-sided, right-hand insert features a parallelogram shape with an 85-degree included angle and a positive rake geometry. The IC28 uncoated grade delivers sharp, consistent cutting performance on aluminum and other non-ferrous workpiece materials. With a honed cutting edge style and a maximum depth of cut of 0.551 inches (14.00 mm), it suits production environments where chip control and surface finish on soft materials are priorities. Installation is via screw-holding method, standard on HM90-series toolholders.
This insert is intended for use in milling operations on non-ferrous metals such as aluminum alloys, copper, and similar materials. It is suited to both horizontal and vertical machining centers in job shop and production environments. The positive rake and bright uncoated finish reduce built-up edge on gummy, soft materials. Machinists and CNC operators working with the HELIALU series cutter line will find this insert a direct fit for the HM90-15 cutter platform. The chip breaker style is designated P, supporting controlled chip evacuation at typical non-ferrous cutting parameters.
Designed for use with ISCAR HM90-15 series milling cutters in the HELIALU platform. ANSI code HM90 AXCR 150508R-P IC28 and ISO code HM90 AXCR 150508R-P confirm fitment. Compatible with cutter bodies accepting insert size code 150508 with screw-style holding.
Installation is performed by a machinist or toolroom technician using the appropriate Torx or hex key for the insert clamping screw specified by the cutter body manufacturer. Ensure the cutter body is fully de-energized and spindle is locked out before changing inserts. Seat the insert fully against the pocket walls and torque the clamping screw to the value specified in the ISCAR cutter body documentation — do not use a value not provided by the toolholder manufacturer. Inspect the insert pocket for debris or wear before seating a new insert.
