The ISCAR 5603464 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying the ANSI designation HM90 APCR 220605R-P IC28. It is a right-hand, parallelogram-shaped insert with a positive rake geometry and a bright uncoated finish, designed for high-efficiency milling of non-ferrous metals. The insert measures 0.5470 inches in inscribed circle diameter and 0.2720 inches thick, with a maximum depth of cut of 0.8660 inches. It features two cutting edges and a honed cutting edge style. This insert is held in place by a screw-type clamping method and is compatible with the HM90-22 cutter series. It is installed and serviced by machinists and tooling technicians in production and job-shop environments.
This insert is intended for milling applications involving non-ferrous metals, including aluminum and similar materials, where positive rake geometry and an uncoated substrate are preferred to minimize built-up edge and promote clean chip evacuation. It fits into the HELIALU series cutter platform. Typical applications include face milling, shoulder milling, and helical interpolation operations on CNC machining centers. The P chip breaker geometry supports controlled chip formation across a range of feed and depth-of-cut conditions common in non-ferrous production work.
Designed for use with HM90-22 series cutter bodies within the ISCAR HELIALU platform. The ANSI code HM90 APCR 220605R-P IC28 and ISO code HM90 APCR 220605R-P identify the insert within ANSI and ISO 13399 tooling classification systems.
This insert is installed by machinists or tooling technicians using the appropriate torx or hex key to seat and torque the clamping screw per the cutter body manufacturer specifications. Always disengage the spindle and confirm the machine is in a safe lockout state before changing inserts. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping screw for wear or contamination before seating the new insert. Do not mix insert grades or geometries within a multi-pocket cutter body.
