The ISCAR 5603342 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying the ANSI designation 3M AXKT 1304PDR IC908. It is a single-sided, parallelogram-shaped insert designed for use in positive-rake milling applications. The insert is manufactured from submicron-grade carbide and coated with TiAlN via a PVD process, giving it wear resistance across a wide range of workpiece materials. It features two cutting edges and a PDR chip breaker geometry, with a honed cutting edge style for controlled entry into the cut. At 0.1790 inches thick and 0.3310 inches inscribed circle diameter, it seats in screw-clamped toolholders from the ISCAR MILL2000 series. Licensed machinists, toolroom operators, and CNC milling technicians install this insert in production and job-shop environments.
This insert is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. The PDR chip breaker makes it effective across both roughing and finishing passes where chip evacuation and edge stability are priorities. The right-hand orientation, positive rake, and 85-degree included angle make it a practical fit for shoulder and face milling operations where consistent depth of cut is required. It is compatible with cutter bodies in the 3M AX13 series and is specified to a maximum depth of cut of 0.4720 inches (12.00 mm). This insert is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 10 units.
Designed for use with 3M AX13 series cutter bodies. Compatible toolholder series: MILL2000. Insert is screw-held with a right-hand orientation. Verify seating pocket dimensions against the 0.1750 to 0.1850 inch thickness range and 0.3000 to 0.3500 inch inscribed circle range before installation.
Insert installation is performed by machining technicians following standard insert-change lockout procedures: power down the spindle and confirm it has stopped before accessing the cutter body. Use the manufacturer-specified torx or hex key to seat and torque the clamping screw — refer to the cutter body documentation for the correct fastener and seating sequence. Inspect the insert pocket for debris or damage before seating the new insert. Discard worn inserts according to applicable shop waste-handling procedures for carbide tooling.
