The ISCAR 5603268 is a round milling insert in the ROUNDMILL series, designed for use in indexable milling cutters across a broad range of machining applications. Manufactured from submicron solid carbide and coated with TiAlN via a PVD process, this insert delivers wear resistance and thermal stability in demanding cutting conditions. It carries the IC908 manufacturer grade and features a T-Land cutting edge style with a positive rake geometry. The insert has 8 usable cutting edges, an inscribed circle of 0.6299 inches, and a thickness of 0.126 inches. It is held in place by a screw-on clamping method and is suitable for high-productivity milling operations where consistency and tool life are priorities.
This insert is intended for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials, covering ISO material groups P, M, K, S, and H. It fits into compatible cutter bodies from the FR and ER series. The round insert shape and neutral hand orientation make it appropriate for a range of profiling, copy milling, and face milling setups in both job shop and production environments. It is typically installed and used by machinists and tooling technicians working with CNC milling machines.
Compatible with FR and ER series ISCAR milling cutter bodies. Conforms to ANSI code RCCW 1605 IC908 and ISO code RCCW 1605 per ANSI and ISO 13399 standards.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians using the screw-on insert holding method standard to indexable milling systems. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Inspect the cutter body pocket and seating surfaces for debris or damage before seating the new insert. Follow the cutter body manufacturer torque specifications for the clamping screw, as these values are not defined by the insert itself.
