The ISCAR 5602313 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying the ANSI and ISO designation AXKT 1304PDR-MM in grade IC328. It is a single-sided, right-hand parallelogram insert with an 85-degree included angle, designed for positive-rake milling operations. The TiCN coating is applied via PVD process, delivering a hard, wear-resistant surface layer suited to demanding cutting conditions. With a 0.3310-inch inscribed circle, a 0.1790-inch thickness, and a corner radius of 0.0236 inches, this insert fits secrew-mount toolholders in the MILL2000 series. It delivers a maximum depth of cut of 0.4720 inches and a cutting edge effective length of 0.5060 inches. Licensed machinists and toolroom technicians install these inserts in production and job-shop milling applications.
This insert is intended for milling steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium workpieces, corresponding to material codes P, M, and S. The MM chip breaker geometry and 23-degree rake angle promote efficient chip evacuation and reduced cutting forces in these materials. It is part of the MILL2000 series and is compatible with 3M AX13 cutter series toolholders. Typical applications include shoulder milling, face milling, and slot milling operations on machining centers or CNC milling machines where insert replacement speed and consistent edge geometry are priorities.
Designed for use with ISCAR MILL2000 series toolholders and confirmed compatible with 3M AX13 cutter series. Insert size code 1304 applies. Cutter compatibility should be verified against the toolholder manufacturer specifications before installation.
Insert replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician with the machine powered down, spindle locked, and all energy sources isolated per shop lockout/tagout procedures. Use the correct torx or hex key to seat the clamping screw to the toolholder manufacturer specified torque - do not overtighten, as this can fracture carbide. Inspect the insert pocket for chips or debris before seating the new insert. Confirm insert orientation matches the right-hand designation of the toolholder before resuming operation.
