The ISCAR 5602161 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying the ANSI designation APKT 100340TR-RM in grade IC328. It is a single-sided, parallelogram-shaped (APKT style) insert with a positive rake geometry, an 85-degree included angle, and a chamfered and honed cutting edge. The TiCN coating is applied via PVD process, delivering wear resistance suited for steel, stainless steel, and superalloys including titanium. With two cutting edges, a corner radius of 0.1575 inches, and a maximum depth of cut of 0.3620 inches, this insert is designed for productive face and shoulder milling in demanding metal-cutting applications. It is held in the cutter body by a screw-clamp method.
This insert is part of the HELIMILL series and is compatible with HM90-10 series milling cutter bodies. It is intended for use in CNC machining centers and milling machines handling steel (P), stainless steel (M), superalloys, and titanium (S) workpiece materials. Typical applications include roughing and semi-finishing passes where controlled chip formation and edge integrity are priorities. The RM chip breaker geometry supports reliable chip evacuation across these material groups. Installation and replacement are performed by machine operators or CNC tooling technicians as part of routine insert indexing or changeover.
Designed for use in ISCAR HELIMILL HM90-10 series milling cutter bodies. Conforms to ANSI and ISO 13399 standards under the designation APKT 100340TR-RM IC328.
Insert replacement is performed by qualified CNC tooling technicians or machine operators following standard lockout/tagout procedures before accessing the cutter body. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key to remove and seat the screw-clamped insert; do not overtighten the clamping screw. Inspect the insert pocket seating surface for debris or damage before seating a new insert. Follow the cutter manufacturer's recommended runout and torque procedures as specified in the toolholder documentation.
