The ISCAR 5601941 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying the manufacturer designation S90MT 1106PC-R in grade IC328. It is a single-sided, square-shaped insert with a 90-degree included angle, designed for use in milling operations on CNC machining centers and milling fixtures. The TiCN coating is applied via a PVD process, delivering a hard, wear-resistant surface layer suited for demanding cut conditions. With a positive rake geometry and a honed cutting edge, the insert promotes clean chip formation and reduces cutting forces at the tool-workpiece interface. Four cutting edges are available per insert, maximizing tool utilization before replacement is required.
This insert is designed for milling steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium, aligning with material application codes P, M, and S. It fits within the ISCARMILL series and is held in the cutter body by a screw-clamp method. Typical applications include face milling, shoulder milling, and general-purpose milling operations in production environments. The chip breaker designation R is engineered for chip control across the listed workpiece materials. The insert is rated for use across material grades C2, C3, C5, and C6, covering a range of ferrous and exotic alloy applications common in aerospace, energy, and general manufacturing shops.
Designed for use in ISCARMILL series milling cutter bodies that accept S90MT 1106-style screw-held square inserts. Confirm cutter body pocket geometry and insert seat dimensions against the ANSI code S90MT 1106PC-R IC328 and ISO code S90MT 1106PC-R before installation.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Use the correct torx or hex key specified by the cutter body manufacturer to secure the clamping screw to the recommended torque — consult the cutter body documentation for that value. Inspect the insert pocket seat for chips or debris before seating the new insert to ensure proper support and runout.
