The ISCAR 5601455 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying the ANSI designation ADMT 1503PDR-HMIC328 and ISO designation ADMT 1503PDR-HM. It features a parallelogram shape with an 85-degree included angle, a positive rake geometry, and a TiCN coating applied via PVD process. The IC328 grade is engineered for cutting steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. With a 0.3748-inch inscribed circle, a 0.2330-inch thickness, and two cutting edges, this insert delivers consistent chip formation in demanding milling applications. The HM chip breaker geometry and honed cutting edge style support stable cutting action across a range of material grades including C2, C3, C5, and C6.
This insert is intended for use in ADK series milling cutters within the ISCAR HMIC series platform. It is suited for industrial milling operations on steel and stainless steel components, as well as harder-to-machine superalloys and titanium alloys. The right-hand cutting orientation and screw-holding method make it compatible with standard ADK cutter bodies. Typical applications include face milling, shoulder milling, and profile milling in production shop environments. Installation and setup are performed by machinists and CNC tooling technicians working with indexable milling tool systems.
Designed for use with ISCAR ADK series milling cutter bodies within the HMIC cutter series. Conforms to ANSI and ISO 13399 standards. Compatible with material grades C2, C3, C5, and C6 for steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium workpiece materials.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and de-energize the machine spindle completely before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key as specified by the cutter body manufacturer to secure the clamping screw — do not overtighten, as this can crack the carbide insert. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surfaces for chips or debris before seating the new insert.
