The ISCAR 5601366 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying the ANSI designation ADKT 1505PDTR-RM in grade IC328. It is a parallelogram-shaped, single-sided, right-hand insert with a TiCN PVD coating designed for high-performance face and shoulder milling. The insert seats via screw clamping into compatible HELIMILL-series cutter bodies. With a positive rake geometry and T-Land cutting edge style, it is engineered to handle interrupted cuts and maintain edge integrity across demanding workpiece materials. The RM chip breaker geometry controls chip evacuation efficiently, reducing heat buildup at the cutting zone. Qualified machinists and toolroom technicians install and index these inserts during scheduled tooling maintenance or setup.
This insert is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium in both roughing and semi-finishing applications. The IC328 grade with PVD TiCN coating provides the toughness and wear resistance needed for ISO material groups P, M, and S. It is applicable in CNC machining centers running face mills, shoulder mills, or high-feed milling programs where consistent edge life and predictable chip formation are priorities. The maximum depth of cut reaches 0.4720 inches (12.00 mm), making it viable for aggressive material removal passes on production runs.
Designed for use with HELIMILL-series cutter bodies and compatible with cutter series ETS, FTS, ADK, and E90. Insert size code 1505 with inscribed circle range of 0.3500 to 0.4000 inches and length range of 0.6000 to 0.6500 inches. Conforms to ANSI and ISO 13399 standards.
Insert indexing and replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician with the spindle powered down and the machine in an e-stop or lockout/tagout state per facility safety procedures. Use the correct Torx or hex key torque driver specified by the cutter body manufacturer when tightening the clamping screw — do not overtighten, as this can crack the insert or damage the pocket seat. Inspect the pocket seat and clamping screw for wear or debris before seating a new insert. Handle carbide inserts with care to avoid chipping the cutting edges prior to use.
