The ISCAR 5601266 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying the ISO designation SEKR 1203AF-N-42 and ANSI designation SEKR 42AF-N-42 IC328. It is a square-shaped, single-sided insert with a 90-degree included angle and four cutting edges, designed for indexable face and shoulder milling operations. The insert is coated with TiCN via a PVD process using ISCAR grade IC328, which targets steel, stainless steel, and superalloys including titanium. It features a positive rake geometry with a honed cutting edge, a neutral hand orientation, and a chip breaker designation of 42. Licensed HVAC and metalworking technicians and machinists install this insert in compatible milling cutters.
This insert is suited for material grades C2, C3, C5, and C6, covering primary workpiece materials coded P (steel), M (stainless steel), and S (superalloys and titanium). The neutral hand orientation makes it adaptable across a range of fixturing setups. It is held in the cutter body by a clamp-style holding method and is designed for the ISCARMILL F45E cutter series. Typical applications include face milling, shoulder milling, and roughing-to-finishing passes on ferrous and high-temperature alloy components in production and job shop environments.
Designed for use in the ISCARMILL F45E cutter series. Compatible with ANSI designation SEKR 42AF-N-42 IC328 and ISO designation SEKR 1203AF-N-42 toolholders and bodies.
Insert replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician with the machine spindle fully stopped and locked out per facility lockout/tagout procedures. Use the appropriate torx or hex key as specified by the cutter body manufacturer when seating the clamp; do not overtighten by feel alone. Inspect the pocket seat for chips or debris before indexing or replacing an insert. Confirm the insert is fully seated and the clamp is secure before resuming cuts.
