The ISCAR 5599908 is a CNMG432-VL IC806 double-ended turning insert designed for high-performance metal cutting in demanding industrial applications. Built from submicron solid carbide and coated with TiAlN via a PVD process under ISCAR proprietary SumoTec technology, this insert delivers wear resistance and edge stability during interrupted and continuous cuts. The 80-degree diamond shape (Insert Shape Code C) provides two usable cutting edges. With a 0.5 inch inscribed circle, a 3/16 inch insert thickness, and a 1/32 inch corner radius, it is sized for medium-duty turning passes. Licensed machinists and CNC operators working in aerospace, defense, and precision manufacturing install this insert in compatible CNMG toolholders.
This insert is rated for primary use on superalloys and titanium (ISO material code S), making it well suited for aerospace components, medical implants, and other high-temperature alloy workpieces. The VL chip breaker geometry is optimized for facing operations and controls chip flow at moderate to aggressive feed rates. Maximum depth of cut is 3.99 mm (0.157 inches). The insert conforms to ISO 13399 standards and carries the Isoturn series designation. It is appropriate for CNC lathes and turning centers in both job-shop and production environments where consistent tool life on difficult-to-machine materials is the priority.
Designed for use in CNMG-style toolholders that accept a 1/2 inch inscribed circle, 3/16 inch thick, 80-degree diamond insert with a clamp or pin holding method. Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or indexing the insert. Follow the toolholder manufacturer torque specifications for the clamping screw, and verify insert seating before resuming cuts.
