The ISCAR 5594071 is a WNMG 432-TF IC908 grade carbide turning insert designed for external and internal turning operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. The insert features a TiAlN coating applied via PVD process, which provides thermal resistance and wear protection during interrupted and continuous cuts. The 80-degree trigon (W) shape with a positive rake geometry reduces cutting forces and supports stable chip flow. With a 1/2-inch inscribed circle, a 3/16-inch thickness, and a 1/32-inch corner radius, this insert is suited for medium to finishing passes. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install this insert as part of a clamp-and-pin holding system on compatible toolholders.
The 5594071 is intended for turning operations on a range of workpiece materials including hardened steels, cast irons, stainless steels, carbon and alloy steels, and superalloys, as indicated by primary workpiece material codes H, K, M, P, and S. The IC908 grade and TiAlN PVD coating make it particularly effective on hard materials and difficult-to-machine alloys. Maximum depth of cut is 4.00 mm (0.1575 inches). This insert fits applications where consistent surface finish and controlled chip breaking are required across medium-production and high-production turning runs.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard production insert for WNMG-style toolholders using a clamp-and-pin holding method, conforming to ISO 13399 insert geometry standards. Compatible with workpiece material grades C1, C2, C6, and C7.
Installation is performed by qualified CNC machinists or toolroom technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Use the correct torque wrench and clamp hardware specified by the toolholder manufacturer — do not overtighten or undertighten the clamping pin, as this affects insert seating and surface finish. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for chips or debris before installing a new insert.
