Product Description

The ISCAR 5591047 is a CNMG432PP turning insert in the IC907 grade, designed for indexable tooling systems used in CNC turning operations. The insert is manufactured from solid carbide and features a TiAlN coating applied via PVD process, providing wear resistance and thermal stability during interrupted and continuous cuts. The 80-degree diamond shape (CNMG style) offers a strong cutting edge geometry with a positive rake angle and 0-degree relief (clearance code N). The insert measures 12.9 mm (0.5079 inches) in length with a 0.5-inch inscribed circle and a 1/32-inch (0.0315-inch) corner radius. It belongs to the Isoturn series and is held using a clamp and pin method.

This insert is suited for turning applications across a range of workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, high-temperature alloys, and non-ferrous materials, corresponding to ISO material groups H, K, M, N, P, and S. The CNMG432PP chip breaker geometry makes it appropriate for medium to finish turning passes at controlled depths. Maximum depth of cut is 4.00 mm (0.1575 inches). It is used in production turning on CNC lathes in both job-shop and high-volume manufacturing environments. This insert is sold individually but requires a minimum order quantity of 10 units.

Key Features

  • IC907 grade solid carbide with TiAlN PVD coating for wear and heat resistance
  • CNMG432PP geometry with positive rake and PP chip breaker for controlled chip formation
  • 80-degree diamond insert shape provides strong cutting edge with versatile approach angles
  • 0.5-inch inscribed circle and 1/32-inch corner radius for medium-duty turning applications
  • Maximum depth of cut of 4.00 mm (0.1575 inches)
  • Clamp and pin holding method for secure seating in compatible toolholders
  • Conforms to ISO 13399 standard for cutting tool data representation

Compatibility

Designed for use with CNMG-style toolholders that accept a 0.5-inch inscribed circle, 3/16-inch thick diamond insert with clamp and pin holding. Compatible with toolholder bores of 0.2030-inch hole diameter. Suitable for ISO material grades C7 and C8 application ranges. Verify toolholder compatibility with ISCAR Isoturn series specifications before installation.

Installation Notes

Indexable turning inserts are installed and replaced by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Use the appropriate torque wrench and clamp screw per the toolholder manufacturer specifications to secure the insert without overtightening. Inspect the insert seat and chip pocket for debris before seating a new insert to ensure proper contact and edge alignment.
