It carries the IC806 manufacturer grade with an AlTiN coating applied via PVD process, including ISCAR's SumoTec proprietary coating treatment for enhanced edge stability and heat resistance. The insert features a 35-degree diamond shape (V code) with a positive rake angle and an F3M chip breaker optimized for controlled chip formation. With a 7.15 mm inscribed circle and a 0.4 mm corner radius, it is sized for moderate stock removal and finishing passes in demanding turning applications. Licensed machinists and CNC lathe operators install this insert as part of routine tooling changeouts.
This insert is designated for machining ISO material group S workpiece materials, which includes heat-resistant superalloys and titanium alloys — materials that place high thermal and abrasive demands on cutting edges. The Isoturn series geometry is suited to external and internal turning on precision components in aerospace, medical, and energy sector applications. The F3M chip breaker geometry performs well in finishing to semi-finishing depth ranges, with a maximum depth of cut of 1.50 mm (0.059 inches).
