The ISCAR 5568389 is a replaceable tip drill from the ICM series, designed for precision hole making in demanding materials including stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. The tip carries an IC908 manufacturer grade with a submicron solid carbide construction and a PVD-applied TiAlN coating. The cutting diameter measures 1.1260 inches (29.00 mm), with a 140-degree drill point angle and a two-flute helical design that supports stable chip evacuation. This tool is intended for use by machinists and tooling professionals working on CNC drilling operations where controlled performance and tip replaceability reduce downtime.
This replaceable tip drill is suited for primary applications in stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium workpieces, with secondary capability in steel, cast iron, and hard materials. The ICM series addresses hole making and drilling operations in production environments where consistent entry geometry and flute performance are critical. The clamp-style insert holding method keeps the tip secure under high-feed conditions. The tool conforms to ISO 13399 standards, making it compatible with tooling management systems that rely on standardized data representation. Typical applications include aerospace, energy, and general precision machining where difficult-to-cut materials are common.
Designed as an OEM-style replaceable tip for the ISCAR ICM series drill bodies with insert seat size 28, conforming to ISO number ICM 286.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine spindle fully stopped and locked out per facility lockout/tagout procedures. Use the appropriate torque wrench and clamp hardware specified for ICM series seat size 28 bodies. Inspect the insert seat for chips or debris before seating the new tip to ensure full contact and accurate runout. Do not exceed the recommended cutting parameters for the workpiece material grade being machined.
